On the eve of their commencement, students from Weill Cornell Medical College and Weill Cornell Graduate School of Medical Sciences were recognized for their outstanding achievements.
More than 100 medical and graduate students received special awards, prizes, certificates and the Weill Cornell seal during two ceremonies on May 31 in Uris Auditorium. The awards acknowledge the students' exceptional academic achievement, scholarship, research, teaching and service. The ceremony also honored other students, alumni, faculty and staff.
Growing up in Knoxville, Tennessee, Neel Madhukar always assumed he would become a physician. That’s what he told his high school teachers, and he pursued a premed track as an undergraduate at Emory University. But that plan shifted after his grandfather, to whom he had long been close, received a devastating diagnosis of liver cancer when Madhukar was a freshman.
Graduating computational modeling students Neel Madhukar and Katie Gayvert, both members of the Elemento Lab, featured in a recent WCM video highlighting the accomplishments of their collaborative and individual efforts to better science and biomedical research.

Each year, starting in 2016, WCGS awards one-year partial fellowships for post-ACE students in WCM laboratories. The fellowships recognize exemplary academic and research achievements as a WCGS trainee. Past awardees are:

I am writing to inform you of several exciting leadership appointments at Weill Cornell Medicine that will keep us at the forefront of biomedical graduate education and research.
The Weill Cornell ICE-OTOPES play in the Central Park Ice Hockey League at Lasker Rink, right on the water in beautiful Central Park North. The team plays Sunday nights from November through March and features players from all three branches of the Tri-I, including graduate students, post-docs, and PIs.
Yoga enthusiasts of all skill levels are welcome to join us in Yoga Club. In our weekly vinyasa-style yoga classes, you will coordinate your breath and movement while maintaining proper body alignment and building strength, endurance, flexibility, and body awareness.
