The Book Club meets once every 2-3 months to discuss a book, eat homemade dinner and be merry. At each meeting, a couple of attendees get to nominate the next book, which is voted on by the group. Books are not limited by type or genre, so it's a great opportunity to read an interesting variety. And of course, you get to read for fun, a rare concept at times in grad school! Some recent books include: For Whom the Bell Tolls, The Great Alone, The Tiger's Wife, and Instrumental.
Book club is informal, delicious and always a fun conversation with friends and colleagues! Emails with info about the next meeting will go out to the grad student list, and there’s an additional mailing list for earlier updates about books and events. We also have a group on the website Goodreads where we share books we’ve read and are currently reading, as well as recommendations from all members (Click here for the Goodreads group!).
If you have any questions or want to join the mailing list, please feel free to email the Book Club presidents Regina Bou Puerto (reb4002@med.cornell.edu) and Samantha Regan (sar3006@med.cornell.edu).
