BCMB Allied | 2nd Year Curriculum

The requirements for year 2 in the BCMB program focus on three important areas: a quantitative biology course, the Admission to Candidacy Exam and thesis research in the student’s chosen lab.

About BCMB

The Biochemistry, Structural Biology, Cell Biology, Developmental Biology and Molecular Biology graduate programs at Weill Cornell Graduate School are collectively known as the BCMB Allied program. Students may affiliate with any of the three programs, however they are initially admitted to, and remain members of, the BCMB Allied program overall.

Vincent du Vigneaud Symposium Awards

The Vincent du Vigneaud Memorial Research Symposium is a one-day, student-run event held annually, showcasing the cutting-edge research conducted by our graduate students in our labs. The day features a keynote speech, delivered by a preeminent scientist selected by the students; oral and poster presentations by the participating students; and a reception and awards ceremony, honoring the day's winners for best oral presentation and poster presentation.

Dr. Christine Salvatore Named Chief of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at NewYork-Presbyterian and Weill Cornell Medicine

Dr. Christine Salvatore has been named chief of the Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases in the Department of Pediatrics at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center and Weill Cornell Medicine. An expert in general pediatric infectious diseases, Dr. Salvatore is leading an expansion of the division’s clinical, research and education programs.

Convocation Recognizes Outstanding Students

On the eve of their commencement, students from Weill Cornell Medical College and Weill Cornell Graduate School of Medical Sciences were recognized for their outstanding achievements.

More than 100 medical and graduate students received special awards, prizes, certificates and the Weill Cornell seal during two ceremonies on May 31 in Uris Auditorium. The awards acknowledge the students' exceptional academic achievement, scholarship, research, teaching and service. The ceremony also honored other students, alumni, faculty and staff.
