The Cornell Laboratory for Mental Health Informatics and Services Research conducts studies in improving our understanding of mental disorders, such as depression, suicide, and schizophrenia.

Research

Our laboratory analyzes large-scale observational datasets from electronic health records, health insurance claims, national surveys, social determinants of health, and social media platforms to study risk factors and treatment outcomes for mental illness and substance use disorders in adults and youths.

Current Projects

  • Prediction of risk of suicidal thoughts and behaviors, postpartum depression, and drug overdose deaths
  • Ascertainment of subtypes for treatment resistant depression
  • Disparities in pregnancy associated medications for opioid use disorder
  • Healthcare utilization in individuals with a serious mental illness
