Course Description
This course will provide students enrolled in the Master of Science in Biomedical Imaging Program with an audience-appropriate introduction to human anatomy, establishing a mental framework and practical approach to understanding the broad interface between anatomy, physiology, and imaging.
Course Objectives
The structure of this course includes a conventional systems-based approach to lecturebased learning, tailored for STEM students without a medical background. Students will not be asked or required to spend time in the anatomy lab; rather, using an innovative model of learning we will bring the benefits of gross anatomy to the classroom, by way of high-resolution, annotated 3D models of anatomy labs pecimens which are currently being digitized as part of ongoing departmental development efforts with medical and physician assistant gross anatomy coursework.
