Weill Cornell Graduate students Wan-Ying Hsieh and Aaron Yu-Yuan Chang won the FY 15 Department of Defense (DOD) Horizon Award! The Horizon Award supports junior-level scientists under the mentorship of experienced cancer researchers with a $75,000 grant.

Wan-Ying Hsieh
Wan-Ying is a 4th year Pharmacology student working in the lab of Dr. Ingo Mellinghoff at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Her winning proposal is “Characterization of Ran Binding Protein (RANBP6) as candidate tumor suppressor".

Aaron Chang
Aaron Yu-Yuan Chang is a 3rd year Molecular Biology student whose research focus is a novel immunotherapy against a protein highly expressed in melanoma, titled “A therapeutic TCR mimic monoclonal antibody for intracellular PRAME protein in melanomas.” David Scheinberg, MD PhD, co-chair of the Pharmacology PhD program, and a physician scientist in Memorial Sloan-Kettering’s Molecular Pharmacology Program, is Aaron’s mentor.
