Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the Application Deadline?

A: Applications must be completed and fully submitted by December 1. WCGS only accepts electronic applications submitted online.

Standardized Tests should be taken by December 1 and applicants must contact ETS to have the scores sent to the Graduate School. If you will be taking tests after December 1, inform Denise Jenkins via e-mail as soon as possible.

Q: Is There a Cost to Apply?

A: There is an application fee of $75, which can be paid by credit card or check. Instructions for making this payment are included in the online application.
Learn about the application process and access the application site.

Q: May I Submit Non-requested Information such as a CV?

A: A CV or resume is not necessary since the online application is designed to capture the information that is customarily provided in these documents.

Q: Is the Application Process Different for International Students?

A: All prospective students submit the same online application.

Q: After I Submit My Application, What Happens Next?

A: The completed application and supporting information is initially screened by an admissions committee of the program of study to which the student is applying. The strongest candidates are invited to attend the Graduate School's interview days held in February. During this two-day period, applicants experience program orientation, personal interviews and opportunities to interact with fellow applicants, current graduate students and faculty. Following the interviews, each program forwards recommendations on candidates for acceptance to the Graduate School Dean for final decision. The Dean then notifies candidates of their acceptance. The final date for acceptance is April 15.

Q: Do I Mail in Any Supporting Materials?

A: GRE and TOEFL scores are sent directly to Weill Cornell Graduate School by ETS. Transcripts should be uploaded in the application and official transcripts will only be required by accepted students prior to matriculation.

After submitting your application, you may view the status of GRE and TOEFL submitted materials online through the application system.
